Is This Thing Still On?
Introducing My New YouTube Channel!
Hey, what's up y'all? Long time no see.
It’s been exactly one year since I announced I was leaving the research business. So to keep the serendipity god happy I want to share the new project I’m launching today.
But first, let me catch you up.
First off, in November I received my remaining passing scores for the CPA exam. After seven years and about ten thousand dollars in exam fees, I can finally apply and get my CPA license. Turns out it only took a few months of actual effort to achieve. What will I use it for you might ask? Well, job insurance...which has always been my sole reason. I do not intend to be a practicing accountant...unless it comes to that.
I also turned 27 at the end of October. Despite another year passing I still feel young as shit. Partly because 27 is young as shit, but also because I'm the healthiest I've ever been. Turns out not working 70 hours a week can do wonders for your physical and mental health.
One thing I have noticed is the pressures of society are starting to kick in. Peers getting married, having kids, buying homes, et al. Luckily I’ve found my life partner and we're happily moving at our own pace.
Since I began taking life more seriously a decade ago, I've played a lot of defense. I took a safe job, built a skill set that allowed me to make decent money, and helped my parents go from broke to even. These experiences forced me to grow immensely and allowed me to really figure out what I do and don't value in life.
But now, after a decade of playing defense, I've reached a point of diminishing returns. I don't need any more credentials or formal education to make a living. If the world goes to shit tomorrow, I know that I can pick up the phone and make great money to support the people I love. It may not be doing the exact job I want to be doing, but hell...I'd be in a better place than a lot of other folks.
The work of the last decade has paid off.
But now that I've got a solid foundation to build on, it's time to play offense. To build things I believe in and can put my full efforts behind. To make a big bet on me before life gets too serious with all the “stuff” I mentioned a few paragraphs ago.
So I've launched a YouTube Channel to provide accessible financial education, without all the nonsense.
The world of finance is full of people who talk the talk but don't walk the walk. This space needs more transparency and I'm going to do my part in bringing that to life.
Since I'm starting a new business and have zero income, I'll be sharing everything I do publicly. Showing what it actually takes to create generational wealth through sustainable, accessible methods. Giving people the tools to do it themselves.
My finances, how I invest my money, how I run/grow my business, etc. I'm letting it all hang out...for better or for worse.
Now here's the part where I ask for your support. If I've ever provided any value to you over the years, please head over and subscribe to my channel.
That's all I ask.
Help me start this new venture with a little wind in my sails. I'd really appreciate it.
And if you want to go above and beyond, share it with a friend/family member who you think may enjoy this type of content.
With that, I'll wrap up by saying thank you in advance for all the support. I look forward to catching up with many of you sometime soon and working together to build a more transparent and inclusive world of financial education.
P.S. Since most of you subscribed to me for the charts…here’s one for you to keep an eye on. I have a feeling this one’s going to trend a lot higher in the months and years ahead 😉
